Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual who is passionate about providing our patients with an outstanding healthcare experience to serve as our Registered Nurse. In this role, you will be a key player in supporting various aspects of patient care, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

Triage:

  • Reconcile medications and update patients' medical history.
  • Conduct necessary diagnostic testing as required.

Diagnostic Testing and Procedures:

  • Perform various diagnostic tests when applicable, including but not limited to:
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Spirometry
  • Rapid diagnostic testing for acute illnesses (COVID, Flu, Strep, RSV and Pregnancy)
  • Phlebotomy
  • Intramuscular vaccine and medication administration

Additional Procedures (Training Offered if Needed):

  • Spirometry
  • DEXA (bone density scan)
  • Home Sleep Studies
  • Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM)

Administrative Duties:

  • Medications: Prepare prescription refill requests and communicate with pharmacies.
  • Diagnostic Results Reporting: Relay laboratory and diagnostic results to patients as directed by the physician or midlevel provider.
  • Prior Authorizations: Handle prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic testing.
  • Insurance Referrals and Patient Care Coordination: Assist in managing insurance referrals and collaborate with subspecialists to coordinate patient care.
  • Document Management: Efficiently manage fax and scan inboxes, ensuring proper assignment to appropriate staff members.
  • Scheduling: Schedule follow-up appointments and diagnostic procedures.
  • Handling Inquiries: Effectively manage patient electronic and phone inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.

Job Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

Candidates should have completed the following educational program:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Professional Certifications:

Candidates are expected to have one or more of the following certifications:

  • National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEXRN)

State Licensure:

Candidates must possess a current:

  • State Registered Nursing License from the state of Georgia.

Mandatory Training and Certifications:

Applicants are required to have training and certification in the following areas:

  • HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Competencies and Experience

Medical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Medical Fundamentals: Understanding of common medications, medical terminology, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Health Insurance Processes: Knowledge of health insurance processes, patient accounts, and insurance claims.

Technical Proficiency:

  • EMR Systems: Required experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Patient Management: Competence in patient scheduling and managing medical records.

Patient Care:

  • Patient Privacy: Commitment to ensuring patient privacy and safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA and cybersecurity standards.
  • Safety: Maintaining personal and workplace safety in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Emergency Response: Capability to perform basic lifesaving techniques in emergency situations.

Communication Skills:

  • Verbal Communication: Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Written Communication: Effective written communication skills.
  • Organizational and Detail Oriented Skills:
  • Multitasking and Precision: Proficiency in handling multiple tasks under pressure with attention to detail.

Relevant Experience:

We require a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a primary care setting.

Work Schedule and Benefits

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time Hours: 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be available for an 8-hour shift between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, subject to scheduling needs.
  • Part time Availability: Candidates with limited availability that match clinic needs and schedules are also encouraged to apply.
  • Location: Candidate should reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the advertised clinic
